New Arkwright Engineering scholar for tlmNexus

tlmNexus continues sponsorship of the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship

We are delighted to announce our continuing partnership with the Arkwright Engineering scholarship programme.  tlmNexus' Head of HR, Emma Wade attended the recent awards ceremony at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London where she met our new scholar, Brighton College pupil, Datis Reyhani,  (both pictured).

A keen problem-solver, Datis has a particular interest in mechanical engineering, control systems and electronics and is hoping to pursue a career in mechatronics. They are a prominent leader in their school's robotics club and a lance corporal in their CCF regiment. We hope they will get great benefit from learning about tlmNexus' software solutions and picking the brains of our many ex-Forces engineers.

Named after Sir Richard Arkwright, the "father of the modern industrial factory system", the Arkwright Engineering scholarship programme has been running since 1991 and in 2001 became part of the educational charity, The Smallpeice Trust, whose aim is to empower young people to explore STEM subjects.

Students apply to be Arkwright scholars during year 11 and begin their scholarship at the start of year 12 (year 13 in Scotland).   tlmNexus became sponsors in 2011 and over 6000 scholarships have been awarded to date.
