SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to augment the architectural team as a Solutions Architect.
Reporting to the Principal Solutions Architect, the candidate will identify and rationalise technical commonality in order to create elegant, scalable and flexible solutions across multiple applications and domains using established architectural patterns and practices. The primary aim is to reduce complexity and capitalise and optimise on re-use, flexibility, robustness, scalability and performance.
Person specification
Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience at a similar level.
- Software engineering/development experience at a senior or lead level.
- Thorough grasp of OO and UML 2.1 with the ability to model across representations (domain/data/object classes/components).
- Experience of enterprise patterns, integration and design patterns.
- Very strong analytical abilities.
- Some experience of data-architecture, including database design and Xml Schemas.
- Must be an excellent communicator both verbally and written.
- Must be available to be security cleared to SC.
- Travel will be required within the UK visiting potential new clients to ascertain their needs including some work on Government and Ministry of Defence sites.
- Degree educated preferably in a scientific discipline.
Desirable
- Some experience of Scrum, DSDM or other lean agile methodology.
- Some project management or analyst experience.
- Experience of working on defence-related projects
