Job Title: Airworthiness and Safety Lead (Resolve)
Reporting To: Sales and Marketing Director
Location: Various. This is a mobile role covering Bristol, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. Travel between main MOD sites including DE&S Bristol, RAF High Wycombe & RNAS Yeovilton will be required.
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional and dynamic individual to join our growing team providing web-enabled business tools to the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The post holder will be responsible for building cohesive, productive relationships with the clients and relevant stakeholder groups, specifically, translating clients’ key requirements into business requests before drawing up detailed proposals for new, modified or replacement systems, all in line with the airworthiness and safety regularity framework.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to deliver our key issue management tool, Resolve, to an air environment community that will rely on the system to help manage their airworthiness and safety issues coherently and in accordance with published procedures and policies. Furthermore, the role will help deliver integrated business solutions and improvements in line with the client’s strategic objectives.
Other key areas of responsibility include:
Relationship management:
- Developing and managing one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups. Initiating communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact.
- Engage the broader airworthiness and safety community to identify strategic direction for Resolve
- Engage the governance stakeholders, e.g. MAA and CAMO, to identify requirements to inform the development of Resolve
- Engage and support key strategic airworthiness and safety DE&S board
Ascertaining client requirements through interviews and workshops, analysing their airworthiness and safety processes, assessing business purpose, including:
- Translating key client requirements into business requirements and informing the required (strategic) functionality required of Resolve
- Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
- Drawing up specific proposals for new, modified or replacement systems
- Taking responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory delivery of small to medium scale projects in the airworthiness and safety environment in support of broader strategic objectives. Identifying and managing risks to the success of the project
Person Specification
Experience Knowledge and Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- MSc qualified or equivalent in an airworthiness or safety discipline
- Understanding of the airworthiness and safety regularity framework
- Understanding of the DE&S and experience of working on defence related projects
- An appreciation of the defence acquisition process (SMART, the CADMID/T cycle, Through Life Management principles and IKM)
- Experience of a full life-cycle development environment
- Experience of safety and risk management tools
- Availability to be security cleared to SC level
